How are BAB members appointed?

Members of the Building Appeals Board are appointed for a period of up to three years by the Governor-in-Council, on the Minister for Planning's recommendation.

Members are drawn from building surveyors, architects, engineers, town planners, builders, lawyers and people experienced in insurance and compensation matters.

Matters are heard by panels of Board members. The Chairperson of the Board selects each panel based on its members' competencies and skill sets to be able to give the matter due consideration and ensure natural justice for all parties.
